  • 2 medium overripe bananas (mashed, ~1 cup)

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 cup light brown sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)

  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease or line a 9×9-inch baking pan.

  • Mash bananas in a large bowl. Stir in melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla.

  • Add flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Stir until just combined.

  • Fold in chocolate chips or nuts, if using.

  • Spread batter into prepared pan.

  • Bake 25–30 minutes, until golden and set.

  • Cool completely before slicing.
