Chicken Broccoli Stir Fry – Quick, Healthy & Better Than Takeout

Tender chicken and crisp broccoli in a garlicky, glossy stir fry sauce. A quick, healthy dinner that’s better than takeout and ready in 20 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, thinly sliced

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tsp rice vinegar

  • 1 tsp cornstarch

  • 34 cups broccoli florets

  • 1 tbsp oil, plus more as needed

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger

Sauce:

  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce or tamari

  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce (or hoisin)

  • ¼ cup chicken broth or water

  • 2 tsp honey or brown sugar

  • 1 tsp cornstarch

  • Optional: ½ tsp sesame oil, pinch red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Toss chicken with soy sauce, vinegar, and cornstarch. Let sit 10 minutes.

  • Steam or blanch broccoli for 2 minutes. Drain and set aside.

  • Mix sauce ingredients in a bowl and set aside.

  • Heat oil in a skillet or wok. Sear chicken 5–6 minutes until golden. Remove.

  • Add garlic and ginger; stir-fry 30 seconds.

  • Return chicken and broccoli. Pour in sauce and stir-fry until thick and coated.

  • Serve hot with rice or noodles.

Notes

Use tamari for gluten-free version. Add more veggies as desired. Great for meal prep.
