Greek Meatball Bowl – Fresh Mediterranean Dinner Bowl

Seasoned Greek-style meatballs served over grains with fresh vegetables and yogurt sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb or beef

  • ½ cup breadcrumbs

  • ¼ cup milk

  • 1 large egg

  • ¼ cup grated onion

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • Olive oil for cooking

For the bowl:

  • 3 cups cooked rice or grains

  • Chopped cucumber, tomato, red onion

  • Olives (optional)

For the sauce:

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt

  • ½ cup grated cucumber

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Mix meatball ingredients gently and shape into balls.

  • Pan-cook meatballs in olive oil until browned and cooked through.

  • Prepare grains and sauce while meatballs cook.

  • Assemble bowls with grains, meatballs, vegetables, and sauce.

Notes

Meatballs can be baked instead of pan-cooked. Serve with pita if desired.
