Sweet, spicy, and crispy – this hot honey chicken bowl layers crunchy chicken bites with sticky hot honey glaze over warm rice and fresh toppings. A crave-worthy weeknight dinner or meal prep winner.
1 lb boneless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
½ cup all-purpose flour
¼ cup cornstarch
1 tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 egg, beaten
Oil for frying
Hot Honey Sauce:
½ cup honey
2 tbsp hot sauce
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
¼ tsp chili flakes
Base & Toppings:
2 cups cooked jasmine rice
1 cup shredded slaw or cabbage
Sliced cucumbers, pickled onions, sesame seeds (optional)
Season chicken with salt and pepper.
Mix flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder in a bowl.
Dip chicken into beaten egg, then coat in flour mixture. Let rest.
Heat oil in skillet and fry chicken until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
In a saucepan, combine honey, hot sauce, vinegar, and chili flakes. Warm gently.
Toss crispy chicken in hot honey sauce until well coated.
