A one-skillet comfort dish with crispy potatoes, seasoned ground meat, and a rich, creamy sauce — perfect for weeknight dinners or hearty meal prep.
1 lb ground beef, turkey, or sausage
4 cups diced Yukon gold or red potatoes
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
½ cup heavy cream or half & half
½ cup chicken or beef broth
2 tbsp olive oil
½ tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp dried thyme or Italian seasoning
Optional: ½ cup shredded cheese, chopped spinach, parsley for garnish
Heat oil in skillet. Add diced potatoes, season with salt, pepper, paprika. Sauté until golden and tender. Remove from pan.
In same skillet, brown meat with onion and garlic. Season with thyme. Drain excess fat.
Stir in cream and broth. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
Return potatoes to pan. Stir to combine and simmer 3–5 minutes.
Add optional cheese or spinach. Stir until melted/wilted.
Garnish with parsley. Serve warm.
Add more broth for a saucier texture.
Use leaner meat and light cream for a healthier version.
Great with crusty bread or steamed veggies.
